Established November 20, 1947, the Metropolitan Airport Authority of Rock Island County is a separate corporate municipal body with taxing and bonding power for acquiring and developing airports as local public need might indicate.
One (1) member is appointed by the Mayor of each of the following cities; Milan, Silvis, Rock Island, Moline and East Moline. Rock Island County appoints three (3) members. These eight (8) commissioners are appointed to five (5) year terms.
