Liquor Control Commissioner

The following information is based upon Title 3, Section 3-2-1 through 3-2-16 of the Milan Municipal Code Manual, Ordinance 686, 691, 720, 751 and 794, the State of Illinois Liquor Control Commission Rules and Regulations Booklet.

The Village President (as Local Liquor Control Commissioner) enforces the laws regulating the sale of alcoholic beverages in the Village of Milan. The duties of the Liquor Commissioner include:

Examine applicants for liquor licenses.
Issue licenses, subject to the approval of the Board of Trustees.
Hold hearings on allegations which may justify suspension or revocation of licenses.
Suspend or revoke liquor licenses.
