The following information is based upon Title 4, Sections 4-9-1 through 4-9-4, Title 6, Sections 6-9-1 though 6-9-4 of the Milan Municipal Code Manual.
Established from the 1970 Illinois Municipal Code and amended September 30, 1985, to hear and decide appeals where it is alleged that there is an error in any action by the Zoning Enforcing Officer or any other official designated to carry out provisions of the Title and for the interpretation of the Zoning Map.
Before a variation is granted the Board of Appeals must find that certain conditions are shown to be present as well as certain procedures and costs in filing an appeal (see Titles 4-9-4 and 6-9-1).
